Ayshia Connors is a government relations professional with over a decade of experience working on both the state and federal levels. Before joining the Basic Education Coalition, she worked as the Director of Government Relations for American Urban Strategies advocating for corporate and non-profit clients before members of the House of Representatives and the Senate. Before that, she worked for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce managing federal affairs and messaging in five Western states. While at the Diabetes Patient Advocacy Coalition, she played a major role in securing funding for affordable insulin in the end-of-the-year spending package. She also worked as a Senior Policy Advisor advising U.S. Representative Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) on education policy, among several other issues. She is a graduate of Arizona State University. She looks forward to working on the Hill and with BEC members on bipartisan advocacy for international basic education.
