Recognizing that education is a central element of gender equality and women's economic empowerment, the G7 Gender Equality Advisory Council called on leaders to guarantee, through their legislative frameworks, policies and programs: "12 years of free, quality, and compulsory schooling for all children in safe, supportive, and secure learning environments."
